AMARILLO, TX - When the Amarillo Bulls have needed a dramatic and timely goal in Topeka they have called on one person, Tyler Gernhofer.

The Grapevine, Texas native has had a flair for the dramatics in the state of Kansas and the overtime winner on Saturday night was his third big goal in his last six games in the State. Gernhofer scored an overtime goal off the netting in overtime to lift Amarillo to an improbable win over the RoadRunners that would extended the series to its limit of five games. Earlier that season in March of 2014, he scored a goal in the final minute to help the Bulls tie Topeka and send it in overtime where the RoadRunners pulled out the win.

Meantime, several streaks ended for the Amarillo Bulls on Saturday night en route to their 12th win of the season at Kansas Expo Center Landon Arena.

The Bulls snapped an 11 game losing streak this season, as well as a string of 11 games without a win at Kansas Expo Center that dated back to November of 2013. Amarillo also was able to win one game versus each South Division team this season.

There is one final weekend of left for the Amarillo Bulls in the 2015-16 season as they hit the road to face the Odessa Jackalopes that has playoff implications for their opponent. The Jackalopes are tied for the fourth and final playoff spot in the South Division with the Corpus Christi IceRays. The two games at Ector County Coliseum this Friday and Saturday will be very important.

BULLS IN THE COMMUNITY: Amarillo Bulls players helped Jersey Mikes Subs celebrate their Day of Giving Last Week. Matt Nehls, Charlie Singerhouse, Jake Nitsche, Joey Molinaro and Nick Santoro hung out at the Georgia Street location as well as signed people up for prizes.

AMARILLO BULLS @ ODESSA JACKALOPES: Plenty of opportunity for the Amarillo Bulls to play spoiler for this weekend series. Tune into the action live on CBS Sports Radio 1440, online at www.amarillobulls.com and on PPV with Fast Hockey, beginning with the Wayland Baptist University Warm Up Show at 6:40 pm. Amarillo Bulls Hockey with Denis J. Puska follows at 7 pm.

WEEKEND REWIND:

TOPEKA ROADRUNNERS 5 - AMARILLO BULLS 0: The Amarillo Bulls fired 36 shots on goal in the game including 16 alone in the third period but couldn't get one past Juha Niku at all. Brian Baker came on in relief of starter Anton Martinsson and stopped 18 of 19 shots he faced.

AMARILLO BULLS 3 - TOPEKA ROADRUNNERS 2: Jake Rosenbaum scored just over three minutes into the game for his first NAHL goal and that provided a lot of momentum and energy. Nick Santoro gave the Bulls a 2-0 lead early in the second with a power play goal. After Topeka tied the game up with two goals inside of a minute, Tyler Gernhofer with the heroics and the overtime winner for the Bulls. Brian Baker was sensational in net stopping 42 of 44 shots he faced. Phil Fromberger, Joey DiBenedetto, Michael Forman got assists on the goals.
