PROMOTIONS: Superhero Night Presented By Liberty Tax Service. Superheroes will be on the concourse for pictures all night. T-Shirts to be given out during all three periods. Ticket specials include Family-4-Four Pack - 4 Tickets, 4 Sodas and Four Hot Dogs for $44 or 2 Tickets, 2 Sodas and 2 Hotdogs for $22. Tickets are available at the Bulls Office from 9 am to 5:30 on Thursday and from 9 am to 4 pm on Friday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday. Fans can call 242-1122. BROADCAST OPTIONS: Fans can tune in live on CBS Sports Radio 1440, online at www.amarillobulls.com and on PPV with Fast Hockey beginning with the Wayland Baptist University Warm Up Show at 6:40 pm. Denis J. Puska has the hard hitting action at 7 pm.
THE SERIES: It's the sixth and seventh meetings of the season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Wichita Falls Wildcats. It's will be the Bulls third and fourth straight confrontations against Wichita Falls, while the Wildcats have played another opponent since the last time they met. All five games have been decided by three goals or less. There have been a combined 27 goals between the two teams with Wichita Falls out scoring the Bulls by one 14-13. Forward Charlie Singerhouse has fired three goals, including the Bulls first shorthanded goal of the season. Forwards Austin Albrecht, Austin Beaulieu, and Adam Goodsir have scored 10 of the Wildcats 14 goals.
WEEKEND REWIND: The Amarillo Bulls enjoyed their first of two off-weekends in the second half of the season. The second one will take place on March 4 and 5. The Wildcats were in action against the Corpus Christi IceRays on home ice where they won both games by the same 6-2 margin. Those two victories kept the Cats as the No. 1 overall team in the North American Hockey League by two points over Fairbanks.
WHAT IS AT STAKE: Heading into this weekend's action the Amarillo Bulls trail the Corpus Christi IceRays by 12 points for the fourth and final playoff spot in the South Division. The Odessa Jackalopes are between the two teams, just seven ahead of Amarillo and five back of the IceRays.
ACROSS THE SOUTH: All South Division teams return to action this weekend. The second place Lone Star Brahmas entertain the Corpus Christi IceRays for two at NYTEX Sports Center, while the Odessa Jackalopes head north to Kansas to face a new look Topeka RoadRunner team with interim Head Coach Josh Kamrass who took over for Scott Langer.
STATS AND STUFF: The Amarillo Bulls took themselves off the list of teams not having scored a shorthanded goal this season when Charlie Singerhouse found the back of the net on January 2. The Bulls though remain of four teams to have surrendered at least seven shorthanded goals this season. It is interesting to note that the Bulls and the Wildcats have combined for 42 one and two goal games (Amarillo 22 - Wichita Falls 20) this season.
