THE TEAMS: Amarillo Bulls @ Wichita Falls Wildcats
WHEN: Friday, Nov. 7, Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7 pm
LOCATION: Kay Yeager Coliseum, Wichita Falls TX
BROADCAST OPTIONS: Friday's game airs on KNSH 1550, while Saturday returns to CBS Sports Radio 1440. Pre-game coverage begins with the Wayland Baptist University Warm Up Show at 6:40 pm. The puck drop follows at 7 pm. Both games are available online at www.amarillobulls.com and on PPV courtesy of Fast Hockey.
THE SERIES: It's just the second and third meetings of the season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Wichita Falls Wildcats. The two teams met in the Texas Panhandle in early October with the Wildcats coming out on top. The Bulls and the Wildcats will not only meet this weekend but again on Tuesday making it three straight games between these two close rivals.
BULLS NOTES: The Bulls finished a seven game homestand with a mark of 3-4 posting wins over the Lone Star Brahmas, and two over the Corpus Christi IceRays. Goaltender Anton Martinsson has appeared in the last six games including starts in five of the previous six. Two of the Bulls newest players have been off to great starts. AJ Duggan had one goal and five assists for six points, while Will Harrison has notched two goals and three assists for five points.
CAT CLAWS: Seven of the Wichita Falls Wildcats nine wins have come when scoring first this season. Goaltender Austin Shaw has played in four of the last six games and posted a record of 3-1-0. The Wildcats are second in goals allowed with 39, but lead the NAHL in shots for. It is also interesting to note that in three of the team's four losses, they have trailed after 40 minutes. Defenseman Matt Koch has six assists in his last five games.
ROAD SWING BEGINS: The Amarillo Bulls have 10 of their next 12 games away from home. That stretch includes three in a row versus Wichita Falls and likewise the Lone Star Brahmas along with weekend series with the Odessa Jackalopes and the Corpus Christi IceRays. The lone home stand for the Amarillo Bulls is next Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 15 and 16 versus the Odessa Jackalopes.
