Amarillo Bulls News Release
AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls continue to upgrade their offense for next season and hope their 2nd tender will go a long way to helping in that area.
Forward Luke Edgerton was signed to a Tender, joining Brendan Walkom as new faces for next season. Edgerton, a native of Wheeling West Virginia, has netted 29 goals and 37 assists for 66 points in 47 games and is plus 43 for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite U18 program in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League. He is third on his team in scoring.
In 2014-15, Edgerton led the Wilkes-Bar Scranton Knights of the USPHL in scoring with 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points.
"I'm excited about joining Amarillo," said Edgerton. "Coach Tony (Attanucci) has been following me the past few months so I have built a great relationship with him. I had a few other tender offers from some teams but I think I have liked him the most."
Amarillo Bulls Head Coach Matt Nicholson is thrilled to add a quality player like Edgerton from one of the top programs in the Tier I Elite League.
"At the time we tendered Luke, he was tied or among the leaders in scoring with the U18 program," Nicholson said. "Luke is a right shot forward, compact body, who has a high compete level and sees the ice well. Pittsburgh is a strong program this year coached by Kevin Quinn. They have been in the top 10 rankings all season long."
The Amarillo Bulls program has quickly become well known for producing top quality hockey players on the ice, and moving players on to the next level. Edgerton said that what's drew him to Texas Panhandle.
"One of the things Coach Tony and I discussed was Amarillo track record of developing and moving guys on," he said. "One of my dreams is to play College Hockey somewhere so I know the Bulls will help me achieve that goal."
Edgerton said he's the type of player that can be effective at both ends of the rink.
"Throughout most of my career I have always been a two-way forward who prides himself on the defensive zone but over the years has led the team in scoring," Edgerton said.
