Amarillo Bulls News Release

FRISCO, TX - It was a very special night for the Amarillo Bulls at the 2012 Robertson Cup Banquet of Champions on Sunday at the Frisco Convention Center.

The Bulls collected four awards, including the prestigious 'Organization Of The Year' for the team's work both on and off the ice. That includes 13 NCAA College Commitments, Community Service, as well as 46 wins during the regular season, 2012 South Division regular season and playoff champions and NAHL overall regular season championship. The Bulls have won nearly 100 regular season and playoff games in their short two years of existence.

Defenseman John Rey was chosen to the All-North American Hockey League team and as Defenseman Of The Year. Rey led the league in points among defensemen with 51 (eight goals, 43 assists). He was first in assists with 43, and also plus-minus at plus 64. He was also among the leaders in shots on goal, power play assists, and penalty minutes.

Forward Brooks Behling was selected as the Gongshow Lifestyle Community Service Award winner. It was the second straight year that the Bulls had taken home that award as Karl Beckman was the recipient one year ago. Behling worked tireless in the community attending events and started the Bulls For Miracles Program where money was raised to help the Children's Miracle Network. Money was pledged every time the Bulls scored at home and also when they were victorious on home ice or on the road.

The banquet also included a speech from Dallas Stars Head Coach Glen Gulutzan who gave an excellent message to both the players as well as the coaches in attendance.
