Amarillo Bulls News Release
AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls took time from their preparation of their upcoming weekend series with the Corpus Christi IceRays to help boost the spirits of some of their youngest fans on Wednesday afternoon.
Several Bulls players along with Head Coach Matt Nicholson, Vice President General Manager Rick Matchett, Broadcaster Denis J. Puska and the Mascot Rampage visited children at Northwest Children's Hospital and BSA Hospital to spread holiday cheer and bringing smiles to everyone's faces. The event was organized by officials from the Children's Miracle Network.
Candy Canes, Christmas Stockings, Posters and Hockey Pucks were handed out to the children. Tickets were also given to the hospital staff members that were working on the floors. The Players and Rampage were immediate hits with the children and had them smiling when they left the rooms.
Later tonight the Bulls will celebrate the Holidays with their fans in the annual Christmas Party. There will be speeches, great food, prizes handed out and much more. The event takes place at the Grand Plaza of the Amarillo Civic Center.
The Bulls will continue with their great work in the community on Saturday when they host their 6th annual Teddy Bear Toss in Support of Toys For Tots Program. The game is presented by one of the Bulls' new corporate partners Tyson.
That night, fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used Teddy Bear or Stuffed Animal To the Game and when the Bulls score their first goal shower the ice with the toys in support of the great cause. Teddy Bear Tosses have been a tradition in Amarillo dating back to the days of the former Rattlers professional team.
Other activities planned for the weekend of hockey at the Amarillo Civic Center include a visit by Santa Claus on Friday and by the Grinch on Saturday. The games face off at 7 pm.
Tickets can be purchased at the Bulls Office located at 301 South Polk or by calling 242-1122. Fans can also drop by the Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket Locations, including United Supermarkets.
