Amarillo Bulls News Release
PLYMOUTH, MI - Amarillo Bulls players put on a strong showing the past couple of days at the North American Hockey League's Top Prospects event at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
The South Division won both of its games beating the East Division 4-3 in a shootout and then the Midwest Division 5-1.
In the first game, forward George Mika (pronounced Mee-kah) scored once and set up another as the South Division rallied from an early deficit. Mika gave the South Division a 2-1 lead early in the third period on a great shot that eluded goaltender Peter Thome. Later in stanza, Mika set up the third South Division goal. Goaltender Anton Martinsson played the first half of the game and surrendered one goal on 11 shots. He made a big save on a 3-on-1 break up the ice.
In the second game, the South Division scored twice in the second to break open a close game. Mika finished the game plus 1 and had five shots on goal. Goaltender Anton Martinsson played the 2nd half of the game and turned aside all nine shots he faced.
Meantime, the NAHL Selects topped the Midwest Division 6-2 and then defeated the US National Under 17 program 6-3. Forward Joey Molinaro suited up for the Selects team and had no points and five total shots on goal.
