AMARILLO, TX - Several Amarillo Bulls Alumni suited up for their respective NCAA Division I teams over the weekend.

Bulls' first captain Derek Hills (2010-2011) notched an assist in Bowling Green State University's 9-1 triumph over Ontario IT in an exhibition game. Hill, a native of Campbell River British Columbia, and the Falcons return to action with a non-conference doubleheader against Union College this coming weekend.

Goaltender Gregg Gruehl was in goal for the University of Alabama-Huntsville in a pair of games against the University of Alabama's club hockey program. Gruehl played 40 minutes in their first game and another 20 minutes in their second - in two victories for the Chargers over the University of Alabama. The Chargers are also back on home ice with two non-conference games against the University of Minnesota State Mavericks.

Defenseman Karl Beckman, forwards Greg Gibson and Cody Freeman were also for their respective University teams. Beckman suited up for Holy Cross as they beat St. Thomas 2-1. Gibson and Robert Morris University defeated Wilfred Laurier from Canada in exhibition action. Freeman and Canisius College dropped a 5-2 decision to the University of Ottawa Gee Gees.

Other Bulls Alumni will hit the ice this weekend for games including Luke Jenkins and Joe Kozlak with Army; Brandon Lubin at American International, Brooks Behling at Providence, and John Gustafsson at Merrimack University.

Kozlak and Jenkins will suit up as Army plays the University of Nebraska-Omaha in the second Icebreaker Tournament game in Kansas City Missouri on Friday night. That game will air on the NBC Sports Network.

Meantime, the Amarillo Bulls are back on home ice at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center tomorrow (Thursday) night and Friday versus the Odessa Jackalopes at 7 pm. Thursday is KAMR Night and tickets are just $4 (excluding Glass and Pit) when purchased either at the Bulls Office (301 South Polk in the Amarillo Building) or by calling 806-242-1122. Friday is also a game not to be missed as the two rivals close out their weekend series.
