Alysha Clark Completes Training Camp Roster

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Silver Stars have signed forward Alysha Clark, head coach and general manager Dan Hughes announced today, rounding out the 2011 training camp roster. The Silver Stars originally selected Clark with the 17th overall pick in the 2010 WNBA Draft. As per team policy, teams of the contract were not disclosed.

Clark joined the Silver Stars during 2010 training camp, recording seven rebounds in an 86-77 preseason win at Los Angeles. She was waived on May 14, 2010.

A Middle Tennessee State alumni, Clark returns to the Silver Stars after a successful offseason with Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion of Israel's top division. She played in 20 games for the club, averaging 16.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 53.5 percent from the floor. She ranked third in the league in three-point percentage (44.4) and 10th in scoring to earn honorable mention All-Israeli league honors.

A 5'10" forward, Clark led the nation in rebounding during both her junior and senior seasons, tallying 821 points in 122 games for an average of 28.3 points per game in 2009-10 after finishing the 2008-09 season with a 27.5 scoring average. During her senior season, she guided the Blue Raiders to the NCAA Tournament while leading the team in points and rebounds (337) and ranking second in assists (99) and blocked shots (19). She finished her collegiate career with averages of 23.2 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Clark played two seasons at Belmont before transferring to Middle Tennessee State and earned conference Player of the Year honors all four years in the Atlantic Sun Conference and the Sun Belt Conference, respectively. A native of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Clark earned All-America honors and was a Wade Trophy finalist in 2010.

The Silver Stars open the 2011 season on June 4 with a 7 p.m. tip-off against the visiting Tulsa Shock.
