Asheville Altitude News Release

ASHEVILLE, N.C, Feb. 20, 2004 - The Asheville Altitude of the National Basketball Development League will welcome home the soldiers of the North Carolina National Guard's 211th Military Police Unit with "Support Our Soldiers and Haywood County Night with the Altitude", Saturday, March 13 at 7:15 p.m. at the Asheville Civic Center.

Local military troops, including the soldiers of the North Carolina National Guard's 210th and 211th Military Police and the 161st Medical Support Battalion will be honored as the Altitude host the Columbus Riverdragons in a nationally televised match up on NBA TV.

The game, which unites the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce, the Support Our Soldiers Organizing Committee and the Altitude, will highlight the diligent hard work and sacrifices that many soldiers and their families have withstood for our country's freedom. In addition, various local politicians and dignitaries will issue proclamations and salute our "Most Valued Citizens".

"As Americans, we owe a debt of gratitude to our service men and women who provide and protect our freedoms," said Alfred White, team president. "Giving our community a platform to say thank you, in addition to giving an ovation, is the least we can do."

Tickets are still available in the upper and lower bowl seating sections for $9. Floor seating is available for $35. In addition, for each $9 ticket sold to the "Support Our Soldiers Night", the Altitude will donate $3 to the Family Support Group of the 161st, the 210th and the 211th units.

Fans can purchase tickets by calling Seth Denton in the Asheville Altitude Box Office at (828) 782-1003. Discounts are available for groups of 15 or more and children under 3. For more information about ticket discounts contact the Asheville Altitude at (828) 782-1000.
