
Altitude to Offer Holiday Ticket Packages

ASHEVILLE, N.C., Dec. 6, 2002 The Asheville Altitude is offering just the thing for those wondering what to buy the basketball fan in their life. Three new ticket packages are now being offered, just in time to make an excellent holiday stocking stuffer.
The Altitude is making available Friday, Saturday and Weekend Ticket Plans, offering fans and thoughtful holiday shoppers an opportunity to purchase season ticket packages at reasonable rates. Tickets are available by calling the Altitude ticket office at 828-782-1004. The new ticket packages offer savings from $10-$30 off box office prices.
"These packages provide the consummate basketball fan the opportunity to see tomorrow's NBA stars today, and right here in Asheville," said Altitude Team President Alfred White "With the holiday season upon us, what better gift can be given to the professional basketball enthusiast?"
The Friday Night Package includes the last five Friday home games for $35 in the upper bowl and $65 for seats in the lower bowl. Friday night games are also highlighted by the 2002-03 "Budweiser Winter Concert Series", which offers Altitude fans free pre-game concerts from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. In addition, patrons can use their ticket stub for free admission to the team's official afterparty at OVERTIME Sports Bar & Grill, 22 Woodfin Ave.
The Saturday Night Package features the five remaining Saturday home games, also for $35 in the upper bowl and $65 for lower bowl seating. The Weekend Package includes all remaining Friday and Saturday home games for $70 in the upper bowl and $120 for the lower bowl.
The Altitude returns from a two-game road trip to host the Fayetteville Patriots Tuesday, followed by the Huntsville Flight on Friday. All home games are scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. tip off.
Season and individual game day tickets are still available at a pro-rated price, and feature numerous deals for all entertainment needs. Individual tickets are available in the following price ranges: $9, $15, $30, and $35. Discounted tickets for children and senior citizens are also available.
The Asheville Altitude is a member of the National Basketball Development League (NBDL), the NBA's minor league. The league includes the Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), North Charleston Lowgators (S.C.), Huntsville Flight (Ala.) Mobile Revelers (Ala.), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.), Columbus Riverdragons (Ga.), Greenville Groove (S.C.), in addition to the Asheville Altitude (N.C.).
The NBDL offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. Ten NBDL players, including the Altitude's Jason Hart and Rusty LaRue, three coaches and three game officials have been called up to the NBA since the start of the league's inaugural season in November 2001.
Designed to help grow the sport of basketball both domestically and internationally, the NBDL serves as a source of on-court talent for the NBA's 29 teams and as a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions.
