Indiana AlleyCats News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The ABA Indianapolis AlleyCats announced the results of their inaugural tryout camp immediately following the conclusion of the event. The two day camp was held at the Indiana Fieldhouse basketball facility in Fishers, Indiana. It was attended by more than 35 athletes who had come into the weekend intent on showcasing their talents for the organization's management team and coaching staff.
Many traveled a great distance to participate in the event with one player and his family journeying from Maryland to attend. AlleyCats head coach Greg Graham offered these thoughts on the weekend: "I am extremely pleased, not only with the number of players who were in camp, but with the high level of skill, desire and intensity that was exhibited throughout the weekend. Most of all, I was impressed with the sportsmanship and class that was demonstrated at all times in spite of the intense competition. The work ethic and selfless team approach that we saw here are the foundations that we intend to build on as we approach the upcoming season."
The camp was structured as a rigorous, intense two day event designed to physically challenge the participants and provide them with the opportunity to be evaluated and instructed by Coach Graham, a former Indiana University standout and NBA 1st round draft price and his guest staff of some of Indiana's most accomplished coaches. Rob Blackwell, President of the AlleyCats was heard addressing the athletes during the camp's closing moments: "All of you should be very proud of what you've accomplished. You came to show the organization what you had to offer and you can leave knowing that there was no unfinished business left on the court. We're building something unique and special here in Indianapolis and your play here was a testament to that."
The AlleyCats will play host to one additional veteran's camp prior to opening training camp in October. The details of the camp will be available sooln on www.indyalleycats.com.
