
Alley Cats top Xplosion, stay perfect

ANDERSON, INDIANA, Dec. 11, 2005 -- Sparked by Tyson Chandler's 32 points, the undefeated Indiana Alley Cats downed the Pittsburgh Xplosion 131-116, to run their record to 12-0.
Playing their third road game in four nights, the Xplosion got off to a quick start, leading 39-33 at the end of the first quarter. But the Alley Cats exploded for 46 points in the second quarter to take control of the game and leave division rival Pittsburgh with a record of 5-7.
Forward Janerio Spurlock paced the Xplosion with 31 points and guard Issac Jefferson nearly recorded a triple-double with 17 rebounds, 13 assists and 9 points. Kyle Crawford scored 20, Shohn Williams added 19 and Coleco Buie contributed 16 points and 8 assists for Pittsburgh.
For the Alley Cats, Lester Jones scored 18 and Carl Edwards added 14 points, while Brandon Bentley snared 12 rebounds aand Lincoln Glass dished out 8 assists. The Alley Cats are first in the Freddie Lewis Division and first in the ABA's Power Rankings.
Pittsburgh lost all three games on the road trip. The Xplosion hope to rebound at home Monday night at Mellon Arena, where they face the Toledo Ice at 7 p.m.
