Alley Cats Pick Up Victory at Utah

Shaun Fountain led the Indiana Alley Cats to a 125-112 victory on the road against the Utah Eagles on Wednesday night. Indiana picked up 6.5 quarter points in the game, winning every quarter except the first, which they tied. The Alley Cats improved to 5-7 on the season with the win.

The two teams were tied at the end of the first quarter, 19 a piece. Thanks to an 18 point second quarter by Fountain, the Alley Cats were able to enjoy a 55-46 lead at the half. The third quarter was a tight one that saw Indiana win it by 2 on a buzzer beating three-pointer by Fountain. The Alley Cats won the quarter 36-34 and led the game, 91-80. Utah got within 3 points with just under 4 minutes remaining, but was unable to get any closer. In the final 2 minutes, Indiana hit two big three-pointers to seal the victory. Romeo Augustine drained the first one, while Fountain came down one the very next trip and nailed the second one. The Alley Cats used that run to win the final quarter by a score of 34-32.

Fountain led all scorers in the game with 37 points. J.J Sullinger and Erick Barkley both had great games as well, finished with 25 and 23 points, respectively. The Alley Cats had two other scorers in double figures. Carl Edwards had 15, while Will Caudle tallied 11.

Utah was led by Bryant Markson, who finished with a team-high 32 points. Harold Arceneaux wasn't far behind with 23 points. Utah also had Rob Griffin and John Millsap finish in double figures, with 19 and 15 points, respectively. Utah fell to 4-8 on the season with the loss.

The Alley Cats finish their 3 game road trip Friday night at Butte. Game time is scheduled for 9:05. The Alley Cats return home to face the Minot Skyrockets on New Year's Eve at 3:00.
