Alley Cats' J.J. Sullinger Named CBA Player of the Week

Anderson, IN (January 15, 2007) - For the second week in a row, a member of the Indiana Alley Cats has been named the CBA Player of the Week, as J.J. Sullinger won the award for the week of January 8th through the 14th. He became the second member of the Alley Cats to win the award this season, as Shaun Fountain won it last week.

Sullinger played like a man possessed last week. He put up a weekly average of 20.3, 10 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal while leading the Alley Cats to a 3-0 record for the week. Indiana is currently on a seven game winning streak. Sullinger scored 14 points on January 9th against the Albany Patroons. He was just getting started. Two nights later, he tallied 34 points and 8 rebounds in another victory against the Patroons. Yesterday, J.J. grabbed an impressive 18 rebounds while scoring 12 points against the Pittsburgh Xplosion. Sullinger is currently seventh in the league in scoring (19.6 ppg).

Other players receiving consideration based on the submission of each team were Albany's Jamario Moon, Butte's Odartey Blankson, Great Falls' Malik Moore, Minot's Ray Cunningham, Pittsburgh's Kevin Pittsnogle, Utah's Rob Griffin, and Yakama's Galen Young.

The Alley Cats begin the week on the road with a game against the Xplosion on Wednesday. They return home to host the defending CBA champions, the Yakama Sun Kings, on Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
