Alley Cats Dominate the Patroons

Anderson, IN (February 20, 2007) - The Indiana Alley Cats dominated tonight in a victory over the division-leading Albany Patroons tonight, 136-118. They picked up six quarter points and improved to 19-15 on the season.

The Alley Cats built a 40-23 lead after one quarter of play. During the quarter, Albany head coach Michael Ray Richardson picked up two quick technical fouls and was ejected early. The Patroons came back to win the second and trailed 68-61 at the half. The Alley Cats bounced back in the third quarter to build a 15 point lead going into the final quarter of play. Indiana held on to win the fourth quarter by three, 31-28. Late in the fourth quarter, Patroons forward John Strickland was tagged with his second technical and ejected.

Carl Edwards was Indiana's leading scorer for the third straight game. He had a huge game, finishing with 34 points and 7 rebounds. Shaun Fountain added 27 points. Chandler Thompson had his best game for the Alley Cats. He ended up with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Erick Barkley tallied 15 points and 5 assists, while Chris Garnett had 11 points and 5 rebounds. Will Caudle rounded out the Indiana players in double figures with 11 points and 5 rebounds. The Alley Cats shot 83% from the charity stripe and forced 23 Albany turnovers.

Felipe Lopez paced the Patroons with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Chris Sockwell contributed 21 points and 6 rebounds. Jamario Moon had a double-double (16 points and 10 rebounds), while Kwan Johnson finished with 19 points. Carl Mitchell scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Albany fell to 19-12 on the season and slipped to second place in the division behind the Minot Skyrockets.

The Alley Cats will host the Great Falls Explorers for the first time this weekend. Saturday's game starts at 5:00 and Sunday's tip off is scheduled for 3:00.
