The Oklahoma RedHawks pick up their first win of the series with a 9-5 victory Thursday night. LF Chad Allen's 5th inning grand slam, which broke up a 2-2 tie, was the highlight of the game. RHP Edgar Gonzalez (1-4) took the loss by giving up the shot and finished the night allowing 6 R, all earned on 9 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. RHP Juan Dominguez (3-1) picked up the win going 7 innings, yielding 3 R, 2 earned, walking 3 and striking out 2.
For Oklahoma, 1B Adrian Gonzalez had 3 hits, including a triple, his first of the season. He also drove in 2. SS Manny Alexander also had a solid night, finishing 2-4, with 2 R, 2B, 3B, and 2 RBIs.
For Tucson, SS Jerry Gil hit his 3rd home run of the season in the 9th inning. He finished 2-4 with a run scored and 2 RBIs. DH Scott Hairston also went yard for his 5th of the season. 1B Steve Neal was hitless and ended his 12 game hitting streak. He went 0-3 with a walk.
4,087 people came out to the ballpark to watch the contest. The game was finished in 2:48. Tomorrow's game starts at 6:30 PM and starters include RHP Nick Regilio (3-1, 2.91) for Oklahoma facing LHP Michael Gosling (0-0, 1.54) for Tucson.
