ALLEN, Texas - The 4, 785 fans were on their feet applauding the Allen Americans for entertaining them with a 6-4 victory tonight. The win gave Allen a 3-1 series lead in the best-of-seven Southern Conference Finals.

Allen scored a commanding three straight goals in the opening period of Game Four before Odessa struck back. Nino Musitelli, the Americans' leading scorer in the playoffs, netted the first goal just 2:33 into the game. Then, Colton Yellow Horn assisted on Jarret Lukin's goal at 15:32 before scoring his own one minute later. Forward Jeff Pierce scored his first tally of the night on the power play with 1:30 remaining in the first period. After one, the score was 3-1 in favor of Allen.

The goal scoring did not stop in the second period, which featured six combined tallies. The Americans grabbed two by 8:32. The first came from Justin Bowers on the power play, and Lukin scored his second of the night to increase Allen's lead to 5-1. Pierce followed that with back-to-back goals to round out his hat trick and bring the Jacks within two.

Jackalopes' forward Kory Karlander drew a penalty shot with 2:46 left in the middle frame and the Odessa captain converted the opportunity. Wanting to increase their 5-4 lead, Allen defenseman Ryan Fairbarn used the defense as a screen to put in his wrist shot with 1:46 left in the second. The power play goal advanced Allen's lead to two, making the score 6-4.

Neither team lit the lamp in the third period.

Whitley made 39 saves this evening, while Odessa's Juha Toivonen stopped 24 shots.

The teams will play their third game in four days Saturday night at the Allen Event Center at 7:30 p.m. The first 2,000 fans at each game will receive rally towels courtesy of Allen Eye Associates and The 33TV. Tickets are available by calling 972-912-1000 or visiting www.allenamericans.com.
