Alfonzo Named Ironman Of The Week
March 4, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release
Chicago Rush linebacker DeJuan Alfonzo has been named the Arena Football League's Ironman of the Week for his performance in last night's 70-47 opening night win over the San Jose SaberCats, the AFL announced today.
Alfonzo recorded five tackles, returned a fumble 20 yards for a touchdown, fell on a loose ball in the end zone for a touchdown and returned an interception 20-yards to set up another Rush score.
"That is why he was named First Team All-Arena last season," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "He always hustles and always seems to be around the ball, which is why he makes so many plays."
The Rush returns to action at noon this Sunday, March 9, when it hosts Jon Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul at Allstate Arena.
The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 and heard locally on WYLL 1160 AM.
Fans wishing to purchase tickets to the Philadelphia game, or any one of Chicago's home games, may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212, or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets also may be purchased in person at any Ticketmaster outlet or the Allstate Arena box office.
