Alexandria Aces Announce Trade
June 26, 2013 - United League Baseball (ULB)
Alexandria Aces News Release
The Alexandria Aces have traded catcher Ryan Gasporra to the Edinburg Roadrunners for future considerations.
Gasporra had played in 25 games for the Aces, but his playing time had decreased due to the emergence of Doug Freeman's defensive abilities and the Alexandria pitchers' confidence in throwing to him. Defensively Gasporra had played in just 10 games behind the plate.
The lefthanded hitting Gasporra, who played collegiately at Centenary, hit .258 with one home run and 12 RBIs for the Aces. His on base percentage was an impressive .444.
By dealing Gasporra to the Aces, Alexandria could receive a player to fill a need at a later time from the Roadrunners.
