Alex Wallace Named ADT Defensive Player of the Week

Bakersfield - Bakersfield Blitz defensive specialist, Alex Wallace is named the ADT Defensive Player of the Week by the af2.

Alex Wallace (5-11, 187) helped lead the Blitz to a 55-26 victory with 3 interceptions and 1.5 tackles in Saturday's game against the Stockton Lightning. His 3 interception game is the highest the af2 has had this season; he is currently the leader in the league with 5 interceptions.

This is the third award the Blitz have received by the league in their four weeks of play in the 2006 season. DeRonn Finley was named U.S. Army Ironman of the Week when the Blitz had their home opener against the Spokane Shock. Rennard Reynolds received the Cutter's Catch of the Week award for his catch that sent him diving and flipping over the wall as he caught the ball in the end zone.

The Blitz will continue their run for the championship on Saturday, May 6 when they face the Spokane Shock for the second time. Kick off is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Spokane Arena. Currently, the Blitz stand 3-1, with an undefeated record on the road. A victory this Saturday will place the Blitz and Spokane in a tie for first place.

Season tickets for the Blitz 2006 season are still on sale, as well as single game tickets. Ticket plans start at the prorated price of $70 and single game tickets are as low as $10 in the lower bowl. Tickets will be available at the Rabobank Arena box office and any Ticketmaster location.
