GREENVILLE, SC - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds have acquired center Nick Billings from the NBA Development League available player pool.
Billings, 7-0, 255, will be wearing his fourth D-League uniform this season. Drafted by the Roanoke Dazzle in the fifth round (37th overall) of the 2005 D-League Draft, Billings was released by the Dazzle on November 17 prior to playing a regular season game. He was acquired by the Fayetteville Patriots on November 22 and played in two games, averaging 7.5 minutes, 2.0 points and 1.5 rebounds before being waived on December 6.
He played in 12 games with the Forth Worth Flyers after being acquired on December 16, averaging 7.7 minutes, 2.1 points and 1.6 rebounds before being waived on January 19. In 14 D-League regular season games he has averaged 7.6 minutes, 2.1 points and 1.6 rebounds.
