( Albany , NY ) - The Albany Patroons are excited to announce the signing of Michael Jenkins, the Patroons #1 draft pick of the 2008 - 2009 CBA Rookie Draft.
The 2008 Winthrop University graduate is a 6'3" Guard who will be looked upon as a key contributer to the team. Jenkins had a very successful collegiate career, earning numerous awards such as being named to the All-Big South Conference 1st Team, the All-Big Conference Tournament 1st Team, and the Big South Conference Tournament MVP. He has led the Big South Conference in 3-Pt%, and has been ranked 10th in scoring, 10th in FG% and 12th in assists. Jenkins was also a key contributer to winning the Big South Conference Championship all four years.
"Michael will be a great addition to the Albany Patroons. He is a leader and a major league player. We look forward to helping him reach his goals and our goals of bringing a championship back to Albany," said Patroons Head Coach Derrick Rowland.
