Albany, NY - The Albany FireWolves are excited to name the High School Student-Athletes of the Week presented by Dave & Buster's - Albany for the week of April 29. These two student-athletes have shown their commitment to athletics, to their community, and to working hard in the classroom.

These student-athletes will receive a prize pack courtesy of Dave & Buster's - Albany and tickets to the FireWolves Semifinal Playoff game this Sunday, May 5.

The Albany FireWolves Student-Athletes of the Week for the Week of April 29 are Samuel Dixson from Greenwich High School and Tia Jack from Scotia-Glenville High School.

Samuel Dixson - Greenwich High School - Freshman - Boy's Lacrosse

Sam is a freshman at Greenwich Central School currently playing both varsity lacrosse and running varsity track. Sam also runs varsity cross country and varsity indoor track in fall and winter respectively. Sam also is the vice president of his class, president of science club, and vice president of STOP (Students to Oppose Pollution). Sam helped with STOP's annual No Trash November bottle drive which recycled over 8,000 returnables through CLYNK to raise over $400 for the local food pantry. Sam is also in band and plays the violin. Sam has been on the high honor roll at school since 7th grade. Outside of school, Sam has participated in the New York Governors youth council for the past two years, a program where students learn about policymaking and participate in state government.

Tia Jack - Scotia-Glenville - Senior - Girl's Lacrosse

Tia is a tremendous athlete but is an even better teammate and role model. She is a great representative of Scotia-Glenville and the lacrosse community. Tia is a leader on and off the field demonstrating leadership in all she does, including in the two varsity sports she has participated in: lacrosse and swimming. Tia has been playing lacrosse since she was in fifth grade and recently reached a milestone achievement of scoring her 100th career goal. She is also an accomplished swimmer, being named an All American for three years. She helps maintain positivity and good vibes on her team, and hypes everyone up before and during games. She has been able to accomplish all of this while holding a job and being involved in the community. In addition to helping with the youth lacrosse program including as a ref, she has taught swim lessons and is currently running a food drive. Tia is a standout student, maintaining a 100 GPA, ranking fourth in her class of 176. She is in National Honor Society, the Spanish Club and the Hall of Fame Committee. She was selected to attend the HOBY Leadership Seminar. She participates in New Visions Health Careers and is going to school to be an OB/GYN.

Congratulations to Samuel and Tia! The FireWolves wish them continued success in the classroom and on the field this spring sports season. The FireWolves and Dave & Buster's -Albany are proud to be a part of the Capital Region community and support youth and high school athletics throughout the area. More winners will be chosen each week during the high school spring sports season.
