The Albany Dutchmen (4-2) beat the Saugerties Stallions (4-2) 6-1 on Thursday at Cantine Memorial Veterans Field behind JJ Shimko, who went 2-4.
He singled in the first inning and doubled in the seventh innings.
Evan Giles brought the heat against the Saugerties Stallions during his outing. The Saugerties Stallions managed just two hits off of Giles, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his 4 2/3 innings of work.
Caleb Gregg pitched lights out for the Saugerties Stallions. The Albany Dutchmen managed just one hit off of Gregg, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
John Doherty (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
