Alaska Wild sign QB Damion Ward and C Brian Bevil

Your Alaska Wild signed QB Damion Ward (6'3", 185) on Monday and C Brian Bevil (6'4", 300) on Friday. Wild fans will remember Ward from the 2008 season as he was a backup with the Fairbanks Grizzlies. In 2008 with the Grizzlies, he finished with ten touchdowns and six interceptions in four games. Ward was also the QB for the Inglewood Blackhawks of the LCFL in California. He was the team MVP in 2007 and 2008 and finished with 41 touchdowns to eight interceptions and threw for over 3,000 yards. Ward will compete with Pierce Blewett and Earl Mason for the starting job. Brian Bevil played collegiately at Arkansas-Pine Bluff and spent the 2008 season with the San Angelo Stampede Express. Bevil was named an Intense Football League All- Star in 2008 while allowing just two sacks. While with the Georgia Mustangs of the NAFL, Bevil was named a Southern Conference All-Star while giving up zero sacks. Bevil will compete for the starting position at center.
