Alaska Wild 2008 Training Camp Begins

It's now time to start the season and begin the AK Wild 2008 Training Camp. It's been a good off-season signing new and returning players, but now it's time to separate the men from the boys. The Alaska Wild coaching staff has the challenge to decide what final 25 roster players (20 active roster players, 3 practice squad players and 2 injured reserve player spots) will make the cut out of 35 training camp invites. Most of the training camp practices will be held at the Cellular One Sports Center and some of the training camp practices will be held at the new Dome at ChangePoint. The practices will be open to the public to watch for free. The first day of camp is Thursday, February 21st at 8:00AM at the Cellular One Sports Center.

The following training camp schedule is open to the public:

Feb. 21, Cell One Sports Center 8:00AM-12:30PM

Feb. 22, Cell One Sports Center 8:00AM-12:30PM

Feb. 23, Cell One Sports Center 8:00AM-12:30PM

Feb. 24, The Dome at ChangePoint 6:00AM-9:00AM

Feb. 25, Cell One Sports Center 11:30AM-2:30PM

Feb. 26, The Dome at ChangePoint 10:00AM-1:00PM

The coaches will make final cuts on February 27th and a Press Conference (Media only) will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott-Anchorage Airport on February 28th at 2pm to announce the final team roster. The first game is around the corner on March 6th at 7:30pm versus Fairbanks at the Sullivan Arena. This night will become a part of Alaska's Great Sports History, so don't miss it !

Alaska Wild Kicker Tryouts

Location: The Dome 6501 ChangePoint Drive Anchorage, AK 99518

Date: Sunday Feb 24, 2008

Time: 6:30AM registration; 7:00AM Kicking Begins

Cost: $40 online or $45 at the time of registration (The tryout includes a T-shirt)

The Alaska Wild is part of the Intense Football League (IFL). Founded in 2003, the IFL consists of a record nine professional indoor football teams, three of which are located outside of Texas, the Louisiana Swashbucklers of Lake Charles, the Alaska Wild of Anchorage, Alaska and the Fairbanks Grizzlies of Fairbanks, Alaska. Texas teams include the CenTex Barracudas of Belton, Corpus Christi Hammerheads, Odessa Roughnecks, San Angelo Stampede Express, Katy Ruff Riders, and Frisco Thunder.
