Alain Matingou Re-Signs with the Comets

INDEPENDENCE, MO (August 18, 2015) - The Missouri Comets announced today the re-signing of defender Alain Matingou for the 2015/16 Major Arena Soccer League season, which will consist of twenty teams across the United States and Mexico. Per league and team policies, additional contract details were not disclosed.

"I am very happy to have Alain [Matingou] back for another season," Coach Vlatko Andonovski said. "His contribution, personality and agility on the field were crucial for the team's success last season and I am sure he will once again be one of the league's best players."

Matingou, originally from Paris, France will be entering his second full season with the Comets after spending four years at Park University where he led a defense that carried Park University to a first-place finish in the AMC Regular Season earning First Team All-Conference honors in 2010.

He joined the Comets at the end of the 2013/14 season totaling one assist in two games. However, last season he played in all 20 regular season matches totaling 33 points with 21 goals and 12 assists before being named to the MASL All-Rookie Team.
