Alabama Vipers Release 2010 Arena Football One Schedule

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Alabama Vipers have announced their 2010 Arena Football One schedule, which includes eight home games and eight road contests.
The Vipers will open the season April 3 at Bossier-Shreveport before returning home for an April 9 home opener against the Jacksonville Sharks at the Von Braun Center.
The home slate also includes the Milwaukee Iron (May 1), Orlando Predators (May 15), Bossier-Shreveport (May 22), Tampa Bay (June 12), Dallas (June 19), Tulsa Talons (July 17) and Utah (July 31). All kickoffs are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the VBC.
"We are excited about the Vipers being a member of the inaugural 2010 AF1 season and this schedulewill enable our fans toview the highest level of competition there is in the nation in terms of arena/indoor football," Alabama head coach Dean Cokinos said.
"Our home dates will display a highlevel oftalent at the Von Braun Center and will feature some of the original AFL teams. From a competitive stand point it should be anexciting and challenging season for the Vipers. It's the beginning of a new era of professional sports in the state of Alabama."
The 15 teams scheduled to play this season are divided into two conferences with subsequent geographical divisions.
Alabama will compete in the American Conference South Division alongside Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa Bay, with a South West Division that includes Bossier-Shreveport, Dallas, Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
The National Conference Midwest Division is made up of Chicago, Cleveland, Iowa and Milwaukee, while the West Division consists of Arizona, Spokane and Utah.
