Al Del Greco Added to Steeldogs Coaching Staff

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Birmingham Steeldogs Head Coach Bobby Humphrey has announced that he has added former NFL kicker Al Del Greco to the Steeldogs coaching staff. Del Greco will become the kickers coach.

Recently inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, Del Greco, played in 248 career games with the Green Bay Packers, Arizona Cardinals, and most recently with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans franchise. From 1995-99, Del Greco led the NFL in Field Goal Percentage, 85.1% and field goals made, 143. For his career, Del Greco connected on 543 of 551 PAT's and was 346 of 448 on field goal attempts with a long of 56- yards on October 27, 1996 versus San Francisco. During his 15-year NFL career, Del Greco, finished with 100+ points seven times.

"The organization is really excited to add Al to our coaching staff. He brings with him strong credentials of a brilliant NFL career and a lot of knowledge in the kicking game. He will be a tremendous asset to the Steeldogs organization," said Steeldogs Head Coach Bobby Humphrey.

In other news of the Steeldogs coaching staff, former receivers coach Chris Williams has left the team to become the offensive coordinator with the Wilkes-Barre Pioneers. Williams had been on the Steeldogs staff the last two seasons.
