
AirHogs Sign Pitcher Brett Hunter

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Grand Prairie AirHogs announced that the team has signed right-handed pitcher Brett Hunter to a contract for the 2014 season.
Hunter pitched in the Oakland Athletics farm system from 2008-2013 after being drafted by the A's organization in the 7th round of the 2008 MLB Draft out of Pepperdine University.
In 2013, Hunter pitched for Midland in the Texas League going 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA in 23 games out of the bullpen. He also spent time with Midland in 2011 and 2012. Hunter owns a 12-9 overall record with a 4.72 ERA in six minor league seasons.
The Grand Prairie AirHogs open the 2014 season on Thursday, May 15 at Wichita. The AirHogs home opener at QuikTrip Park is set for Monday, May 19 against the Lincoln Saltdogs at 7:05 p.m. Check back at the team's official website www.airhogsbaseball.com for any other news as develops.
