AFL Season Kicks off with Power at Orlando Tonight

(Pittsburgh) The Pittsburgh Power start the 2012 season this Friday at the Amway Center Orlando against the Predators. Kick-off is set for 8:30 pm following a pre-season game preview show. After a grueling training camp, Coach Chris Siegfried has finalized his 24 players and the roster shows the potential for being a championship contender despite being omitted from the Week 1 AFL power rankings.
With their inaugural season behind them, the Power looks toward a win this Friday after falling 62-54 against the Predators late in the 2011 season. The Predators fought their way to the quarterfinals last season but lost 63-48 against the eventual ArenaBowl champions Jacksonville Sharks. This will be the first of two meetings with the Preds this year, with the return trip on April 14th at CONSOL.
Hall of Fame wide receiver and co-owner, Lynn Swann sent a video message to all his fans on Facebook about how excited he is for the season opener against Orlando.
"We played them last year, we had the game under control, and we lost it on special teams. It was bitter loss for all of us because it took us out of the playoffs. We need this win." The game will be aired at 8 pm to kick start the NFL Network's premier of the NET10 Arena Football Friday show with Paul Burmeister and Charles Davis. The game can be heard on TribLive Radio with Ken Laird and Mike Logan calling the action, and will stream on the Power's Ustream channel, at: www.ustream.tv/PittsburghPower.
