June 7, 2005 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Georgia Force wide receiver/linebacker CHRIS JACKSON, Force quarterback MATT NAGY, and Colorado Crush defensive specialist RASHAD FLOYD have been named U.S. Army Ironman, Offensive Player and ADT Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for the Conference Championship Round of the 2005 playoffs.

U.S. ARMY IRONMAN: Jackson (6-2, 220, Washington State), who is in his sixth AFL season, caught eight passes for a game-high 147 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Force (13-5) past the Orlando Predators, 60-58, in Saturday's American Conference Championship game. Jackson, who was acquired by the Force in a trade with Grand Rapids on March 30, also totaled 94 yards on four kickoff returns and added two solo tackles from his linebacker position on defense. It's the third "Ironman of the Week" award and the ninth weekly AFL honor for the former Cougar.

OFFENSIVE: Nagy (6-2, 220, Delaware) was responsible for all eight Georgia touchdowns in the Force's American Conference Championship game victory over Orlando on Saturday. The third-year player threw seven scoring passes completing 26-of-36 attempts for 344 yards without an interception. He also added a 3-yard scoring run on his only attempt to propel the Force to their first ArenaBowl appearance. This marks the second time the former Blue Hen has earned an AFL weekly honor.

ADT DEFENSIVE: Floyd (5-9, 180, Portland State) led a defensive effort that allowed the Crush (12-6) to defeat Chicago, 49-43, in overtime in the National Conference Championship game to advance to ArenaBowl XIX. The fourth-year veteran posted 13.0 total tackles (12 solo) and added four pass breakups to help the Crush advance to its first ArenaBowl. This marks the third time the former Viking has earned an AFL weekly award.
