Aeros Gameday: Wild Reassigns Hilbert, Smith

HOUSTON – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned forwards Andy Hilbert and Nathan Smith to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Hilbert, 28 (2/6/81), posted two penalty minutes (PIM) in four games with the Wild after being recalled Oct. 13 from Houston. Hilbert was invited to Wild training camp on a tryout and appeared in six preseason games with Minnesota before he was signed to a contract on Sept. 30 and assigned to Houston on Oct. 1. Hilbert notched three points (1-2=3) in four contests with the Aeros this season.

Smith, 27 (2/9/82), had five PIM in six games with the Wild after being recalled Oct. 13 from Houston. Smith was signed as a free agent by Minnesota on July 22 and appeared in five preseason games with the Wild before being assigned to the Aeros on Sept. 30. He recorded two assists and 31 penalty minutes in four games with Houston this season.
