Admirals, Stars Battle in Game Five Tonight at 7:00 pm

The Milwaukee Admirals will look to eliminate the Iowa Stars Thursday in game five of their best-of-seven series tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
After splitting the first two games of the 2006 Calder Cup Playoffs on Bradley Center ice, the Ads have taken two in a row from the Stars on the road to stake themselves to a 3-1 lead in the series.
Three seems to be the magic number for the Admirals as they have scored three goals in each of the team's four playoff games, so it was no surprise when Milwaukee found a little come-back magic on the road in game three of the series.
The Stars got on the board first when Marius Holtet netted his first of the 2006 playoffs at 9:17 of the first stanza. Milwaukee wasn't down for long as Simon Gamache tallied his first of two goals on the night on the power play less than 1:30 later. Darren Haydar assisted on both goals and added a marker of his own just 33 seconds into the third period to ensure the 3-2 win. Brian Finley made 23 saves in the contest.
Game four got underway with Iowa playing catch-up in the series and the game after less than seven minutes of play. Gamache struck for his team leading fourth post-season goal with assists from Steve Lingren and Haydar on the power play. Iowa was able to tie the game at the beginning of the second frame, but Chris Durno and Zack Stortini were able to capitalize on two even-strength opportunities to put the Admirals up 3-1 in the series.
The Admirals may be less than comfortable with a seemingly large lead. Experience has taught them as recently as last year that no lead is safe. Cincinnati eliminated Milwaukee in seven games last year after the Admirals had gone up 3-1 in that series.
With a win Thursday Milwaukee will capture its first playoff series win since sweeping Wilkes-Barre in the 2004 Calder Cup Finals. Should the Admirals win, they will move on to play the winner of the Houston Aeros, who swept Peoria in the first round, in the West Division Finals.
Should there be a game six, it will be played at the Bradley Center on Friday, April 28 at 7:00 pm. Game seven will be Sunday, April 30 at 4:00 pm in Milwaukee, if necessary.
