LOVELAND, Colo. - Trent Daavettila, Kyle Kraemer and Mark Nemec each collected three points and the Colorado Eagles led wire-to-wire, sending the Alaska Aces to a 6-2 defeat before 5,289 fans at Budweiser Events Center on Saturday.

Justin Breton and Erik Higby (first career ECHL goal) each scored for Alaska, who seized four points out of six possible in the three game series at Colorado. Niklas Lundstrom took the loss on 25 saves and counterpart Clarke Saunders, leaving in the third due to injury, earned the win on 19 saves.

Alaska ended the evening five points back of fourth place (Utah) in the Pacific Division.

Chris Knowlton converted Colorado's second shot of the game, off the rush at 5:03 on a wrister between the circles and Daavettila's 12th goal of the year boosted the lead to 2-0 at 5:49 of the second period on a bid from the right circle. The Aces lost Justin Johnson prior to the goal, penalized for interference on a hit to the shoulder of Jordan Kwas against the boards and a subsequent scrum with Chris Duszynski, who charged Johnson in retaliation.

Duszynski was handed a roughing minor while Johnson was issued a game misconduct and 34 penalty minutes (interference, roughing, and two separate ten-minute misconducts).

Jordan Kwas' sixth goal of the season, driving to the net from the right wing, put Colorado ahead 3-0 at 14:29 but the Aces responded on Breton's rebound goal at the left post, seconds after Michael Markovic produced a rebound off Saunders' pads with 2:18 left in the period.

Alaska earned an opportunity on a backdoor set up to Chris Francis at the right circle, who missed picking the corner on Saunders to end the period on a power play. But Colorado earned the next goal to move ahead, 4-2 on Nathan Moon's rebound at the left post at 3:19 of the third period.

Erik Higby then converted a breakaway after a deflected relay by Ryan Tesink from center ice with 7:24 elapsed, drawing the Aces to a 4-2 deficit. But Daavettila buried a wrister from the left circle for a 5-2 cushion with 7:46 remaining, and Kyle Kramer sunk an empty netter with 3:19 to play.
