Alaska Aces News Release

The Alaska Aces have partnered with GCI to air all of their playoff games live on GCI Cable Channel 1 in the 2011 Kelly Cup Playoffs. All Aces home games will be aired throughout the state of Alaska, however not in the Anchorage/Mat-Su areas. Road games will be televised in all markets throughout the state, including Anchorage/Mat-Su. If the Aces sell out their home games, per blackout rules, only then will the games be shown in Anchorage. For more information, please contact the Aces at 907.258.ACES or visit the Aces at their Facebook page.

The Aces televised broadcasts will also be simulcast on their radio partner NewsTalk 750AM - KFQD. The Aces flagship radio station will air all home and road games throughout all of their coverage market, including Anchorage. Aces broadcaster, Josh Bogorad will handle to play-by-play for all post-season games with KTUU Lead Sports Anchor, Kevin Wells serving as color commentator. Aces Managing Partner, Terry Parks said that the partnership with GCI provides Aces fans throughout the state an opportunity to follow the team's post-season campaign.

"The Aces are Alaska's team," said Parks. "We know that every time our team is on the ice there are people in Ketchikan, Fairbanks, Soldotna, and throughout the state who follow closely. That's why it's important to us that the entire state can watch the Aces at the biggest time of the season. This partnership is about letting fans who can't get to the game watch all the action. That's why our road games will be on in Anchorage, as well as any home games that sell out. We want to give every Alaskan who can't attend the game the opportunity to see it.

"Friday night's atmosphere was electric," Parks added. "It's amazing what a difference crowds like that make to a game. We are always excited to host a scene like that at the Sully, and look forward to more large and energetic crowds during an exciting playoff run. We want the whole state to see the atmosphere the Aces fans can create, and hope they have the chance to come join the crowd in person during the playoffs."

The Aces are back home on Saturday night for Game 2 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals. The series then shifts to Boise for the first Anchorage-televised games on Wednesday, April 20th, Friday, April 22nd, and (if necessary) Saturday, April 23rd. All three road games will begin at 5:10pm in Alaska with the TV/radio broadcasts beginning at 4:55pm.

Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals is Saturday night at Sullivan Arena at 7:15pm.
