
Aces lose to Barracudas 5-1

[ASHEVILLE] - The Aces started a tough week off on the wrong foot dropping tonight's contest with the Jacksonville Barracudas 5-1.
The Cudas struck first with a goal by Greg LeColst at 12:15 of the first period. Joel Petkoff answered back before the end of the period for Asheville but that was all the offence the Aces could muster for the remainder of the game.
It was a wide open, end to end game and Jacksonville goalie Randy Hevey made the big saves when he had to giving his team a chance to run away with the game in the second period. Three unanswered goals quickly put the Aces out of the game in the second.
Jacksonville's goals came from Greg LeColst, Jason Silverthorn (2), Greg Snitowski and Brad Federenko. Hevey stopped 24 of 25 shots for the win. Ryan Person stopped 29 of 34 for the loss.
The Aces are back in action tomorrow night when the travel to Knoxville for a 7:30 game with the Ice Bears. Next Aces home game is Saturday, January 1st at 7:30 p.m.. against the Columbus Cottonmouths.
