
Aces keep rolling - beat Bears 10-4

Thursday night at the Aviator Arena in Brooklyn, the Aces extended their streak of regulation victories to 15, beating the Hudson Valley Bears 10-4. The Aces got off to their usual fast start, with Eddie Chlanda scoring less than two minutes into the first period. Hudson Valley answered back on Scott Estey's 11th goal of the season. Derek Kern the scored his first goal as an Ace, to give Brooklyn the 2-1 lead. John Gevard scored a power play goal to tie the game midway through the period. Then the Aces hit the after burners and took off.
Eddie Chlanda scored his second goal of the night, giving Brooklyn the 3-2 lead going into the second period. Jesse Felten opened the second period with his 18th goal of the season on a pass from BJ Kuper. Chris Holmes scored two goals of his own in the second to extend the Brooklyn lead. CJ Tozzo had two goals and an assist on the night, joining teammate Kyle McCullough as the only EPHL players with 50 points so far this season. Eddie Neville stopped 32-of-36 Hudson Valley shot attempts en route to his 11th victory of the season.
The Aces are back in action tomorrow night against the Jersey Rockhoppers in West Orange, NJ at 8:00pm. They will be home again on Saturday February 7th at 7:30pm for NYPD Appreciation Night.
