Aces Beat Colts with Another Walk-Off

Alexandria, La. --- The Alexandria Aces defeated the Colts with a walk-off RBI base hit for the second game in a row Tuesday night at Bringhurst Field. Right fielder Zach Cadet's RBI infield single along the first base line scored shortstop Michael Haynes, and gave the Aces a 6-5 win in 10 innings.

Alexandria and San Angelo traded runs in the first and fourth innings, and were tied at three entering the sixth inning.

In the sixth, the Aces took their first lead at 4-3. First baseman Nick Mahin hit a leadoff double, and then scored on an RBI fielder's choice groundout by third baseman Cameron Dullnig.

San Angelo answered back with two runs in the top of the seventh, but Alexandria tied the game at five in the eighth. Mahin scored the tying run on an RBI single by Haynes.

The Colts and Aces had four ties, and five lead changes in the ball game. The final lead change was on the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th.

Colts' closer Alfredo Caballero (0-2) gave up the walk-off single, and suffered his second loss in as many nights. Alexandria reliever Alex Schmarzo (1-1) earned the win, pitching a scoreless top of the 10th.

The Aces and Colts are now tied for second place in the United League at 6-6. The Colts are off Wednesday, and then they begin a four-game series against the Fort Worth Cats Thursday night at LaGrave Field. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., and the game can be heard live beginning at 6:50 p.m. on 1260 KKSA.
