Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

On Thursday night at the Grand Rapids Airport Hilton, close to a hundred women of all ages gathered to taste wine, eat hors d'oeuvres and get a better understanding of football terms, strategies and equipment from Rampage players and Head Coach Bob Cortese during the second annual Pinot & Pigskin - Arena Football 101 for Women.

The event, hosted by Kristie Swan of the New I-96 Morning Fix (WVTI 96.1), featured several Rampage players demonstrating a variety of aspects of the game. Linemen Israel Raybon and Jason Gamble showcased the equipment that each player suits up for games, kicker Nick Gatto explained special teams, quarterback Robert Hall called out plays and taught what routes and formations were, and Coach Cortese talked at length about all aspects of the sport. Additionally, WR/LB Jeremy Dutcher described the pre-game routines he follows prior to a game and WR/LB Thomas Bailey joined in a game with one of the female participants, racing to see who could get dressed quicker (him in women's clothing and her in a football uniform). Thomas lost that battle.

Participants were given a Rampage folder containing a number of items including: two tickets to the Rampage home opener, a Rampage souvenir and a Design 1 Salon & Day Spa gift pack.
