
abc27 to Televise Harrisburg Stampede Indoor Football on Friday

HARRISBURG, PA (April 9, 2014) - The Harrisburg Stampede have accomplished many firsts in the last two seasons under the ownership of Marques Colston. In 2013, the team won the franchise's first National Championship title. The team kicked off the 2014 season in a new home, Giant Center and as part of a new league, the PIFL (Professional Indoor Football League).
On Friday, April 11th at 7:05pm, the Stampede will once again create history by presenting the first ever indoor football game to be aired live from PinnacleHealth Field at Giant Center!
"We are very excited to take part in the first indoor football game broadcast from Giant Center," remarks Stampede President and GM Marques Colston. "This is a great opportunity to expand the footprint of indoor football, and introduce our exciting brand of Stampede football to a new group of fans within this region."
abc27 Sports Director Gregg Mace will provide play-by-play for the broadcast. Joining him in the booth for the broadcast will be special guest color analyst Ross Tucker. A two-time academic
All-American at Princeton University, Tucker also played 7 years in the NFL. He has created an impressive media portfolio working for ESPN, NBC, FOX, SiriusXM, Sports Illustrated, and many other outlets since retiring from professional football in 2008. Additionally, abc27's Josh Reed will provide sideline commentary and interviews.
The game will air on abc27's RTV. RTV is abc27's digital TV channel showcasing vintage Retro Television and sporting events! RTV can be viewed over the air on channel 27.2, Comcast cable channel 246, and Verizon FIOS channel 461, Blue Ridge 152 and Kuhn 67.
