ABA salutes all candidates, winners and losers

November 3, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Indianapolis, IN. Ricardo Richardson, ABA Executive Vice President, today released a statement congratulating all of the candidates nationwide in the Tuesday election - both the winners and the losers. According to Richardson, "Political campaigns are not unlike sports. You work long and hard to put yourself into a position to compete. And then you go out on the court or field and give it your best, 110%, knowing that there will be a winner and loser. To the winners, the ABA extends its heartiest congratulations for a job well done. To the losers, take consolation in the fact that you did your best, gave it your all, and that there will be another day, another time, another election - just as there will always be another game."

Richardson added, "And personally, I would like to congratulate Mitch Daniels, the Governor-elect in Indiana. Mitch is a good friend of sports, of basketball and the ABA. He has said to me that he is proud that the ABA was founded in Indiana (by our co-founder Dick Tinkham), that the league office is here in Indiana, and that with our growth, we are providing great opportunities for young athletes."

And Governor Daniels, the ABA is looking forward to hosting a luncheon for you in the near future.
