
ABA championship game tomorrow

LONG BEACH, CA - For the past week and a half, the Long Beach Jam of the American Basketball Association (ABA) have known they would be in the league championship game. Now they know who their opponent will be. After a 100-99 victory over Juarez in Juarez, the Kansas City Knights have advanced to the title game Tuesday at 7:30 p.m at the Long Beach Pyramid.
The Jam (24-7) and Knights (23-9) have faced each other six times during the regular season, splitting the meetings. The Jam are 2-1 vs. the Knights at the Pyramid. The Jam enter the game on a five-game winning streak. The Knights have won their last nine contests.
For the Jam this season, Ronnie Coleman has averaged 20.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Derrick Dial is averaging 17.3 points per game and Jack Hartman has been grabbing 13.6 rebounds per game.
The Knights, coached by former NBA stalwart Scott Wedman, are led in scoring by Joe Crispin who is getting 22.7 points per game.
Dennis Rodman has rejoined the Jam and will play in the championship game. The first 500 children in attendance under 14 years of age will receive a free Rodman Jam T-Shirt.
The game will air on KVMD-TV. Play-by-play announcer Geoff Witcher will call the game, while Neil Evans will be the color analyst. Witcher, with more than 25 years of television and radio broadcast experience, is best known for his work with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Anaheim Angels. KVMD-TV can be found by cable viewers on Adelphia and Charter systems in Anaheim, Santa Ana, Santa Monica and Long Beach on Channel 23. The station is also carried on satellite by DirecTV and the Dish Network.

Prices range from $5 for students, senior citizens and military, to $10-15 for reserved seating. Group tickets may be purchased by calling the Long Beach Jam offices at 562-799-8100.
