San Diego Sol News Release

San Diego, CA. - The American Basketball Association has tabbed point guard Richie Williams as the San Diego Sol's representative for the 2011 American Basketball Association All-Star Game scheduled for February 26, 2011 in Jacksonville, Florida, the team announced today.

Williams, who was a four-year starter at San Diego State University, has started 12 games for the Sol this season. He averages 16.2 points per game on 51.2 percent shooting from the floor, with 3.1 assists per game, is pulling down 4.5 rebounds per game and averages a team-high 5 steals per game.

This is the Sol's inaugural season with the American Basketball Association but Williams is no stranger to professional basketball. He played in Iceland this past season. GM/ Head Coach Zack Jones said, " Richie has been a leader on and off the floor. We are looking forward to having him represent the San Diego Sol in the ABA All-Star Game. This is a great accomplishment and honor for him, that we feel won't be the last. We fully expect Richie to have some opportunities to demonstrate his skill package on a higher level of play sometime in the near future."
