Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the United Hockey League and 2005-06 Central Division, Tarry Cup and Colonial Cup Champions, announce that the Kalamazoo Holiday Inn West will be the team's host hotel for the 2006-07 season.
By becoming the host hotel, the Kalamazoo Holiday Inn West, which is located on 2747 South 11th Street, will be the home for all visiting teams that lodge in Kalamazoo.
Over the past year, the Holiday Inn West has received more than $3 million in enhancements, which is part of the facility's strategy to increase business and leisure travel in Kalamazoo.
"We (Holiday Inn West) are proud of the K-Wings and are excited to have two entities associated with the Colonial Cup Champions," said Director of Corporate Marketing and Business Development for the Green Leaf Hospitality Group Tony Masco.
Besides rooms, the Holiday Inn West has the ability to host meetings and banquets for up to 300 guests. Families will love the Kalamazoo Holiday Inn West because of the Holidome Recreation Center, which features a swimming pool, hot tub and video games.
Other amenities include complimentary high-speed wireless Internet, business center and van transportation.
Also inside the hotel is The Cabana Bar and Grill. For the second straight year, The Cabana Bar and Grill will serve as home to K-Wings Live. The weekly show, which features Head Coach Mark Reeds, K-Wings players, and the Voice of the K-Wings Mike Modugno will emanate from the restaurant Monday nights from 6-7 p.m. The show can also be heard on Your Local Sports Leader 1660 AM WQSN. K-Wings Live season debut will be Monday, October 2nd.
