\'Ants Head to Fort Wayne Saturday

TUPELO, MS--The Tupelo FireAnts (2-7) hit the road this weekend as they take on the undefeated Fort Wayne Freedom (8-0) in Indiana on Saturday, May 28th at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum starting at 7:30pm.

The FireAnts are coming into this week's game after a 42-15 loss on the road against the Ohio Valley Greyhounds (4-4) this past weekend.

The 'Ants and Freedom last met in Tupelo on April 23rd, with Fort Wayne winning 51-15. The FireAnts hope to rebound from three consecutives road losses and have made key adjustments to the lineup in preparation for Saturday's contest.

Recent Tupelo player signings include offensive lineman Terrance Ware. The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Ware played previously with the Mississippi Fire Dogs in 2002 and Tupelo FireAnts in 2003. Also joining the 'Ants on the offensive line is 6-foot-5, 300-pound Kendrick Key who played at the University of Southern Mississippi. In addition, Kenneth Turner, a 6-foot-3, 305-pound offensive lineman from Fort Valley State University has also been added to the 'Ants roster.

Saturday's contest in Fort Wayne will wrap up a three game road swing for Tupelo. The 'Ants will return to home action on Friday, June 10th against the Black Hills Red Dogs at the BancorpSouth Center.
