Springfield Armor Acquire Major Wingate

SPRINGFIELD, MA Dec. 2, 2009 - The Springfield Armor today announced the team has acquired second round draft pick, Major Wingate, who reported to the Springfield Armor's camp on Friday, November 27. To make room on the 10-man roster, the team will be releasing Julian Allen. Wingate, a 6 foot 10 inch Forward/Center from Florence South Carolina, played for the University of Tennessee from 2003-2006 and has played for various European teams in Greece, Turkey and France since leaving Tennessee.
"Major will be a good addition to our team," said Brown. "He is a veteran and a strong front court player who can defend several positions. We are excited to see what he can add to the foundation we have laid here in Springfield."
Allen played only 19 minutes in Friday night's game against Iowa and had a total of 7 points, 3 offensive rebounds, 1 assist, 1
