Jerome Holman Wins And1 Endorsement Contract

September 13, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Strong Island Sound News Release

The Strong Island Sound would like to congratulate point guard Jerome "Fridge" Holman as this year's winner of the And1 Streetball Mixtape Tour Contract. Having made the bus from the first open run of the summer, Fridge ("Circus" as he is known on the show) outlasted numerous streetballers to win an endorsement contract with And1 and become a contract player for the tour next summer. The Brooklyn native won the contract on the last day of the tour in front of the hometown crowd in New York City. The And1 Mixtape Tour has become a huge success for fans of streetball and commercially for And1, ESPN and sponsors like Gatorade. Streetball players like Aaron Owens AKA "AO", Hugh Jones AKA "Baby Shaq" and Philip Champion AKA "Hot Sauce" are just a few of the players who have become household names solely from exposure on the Tour. For Fridge to win the contract is a testament to his creativity, passion and desire to be the best whenever he is on the court.

Last season Fridge helped lead the Strong Island Sound to the Semi-Finals of the ABA Championship Tournament in Rochester where they lost a close decision to the SoCal Legends. The Sound will be holding its second Free Agent Camp on September 23rd and 24th, from 10am to 1pm at the Island Garden Basketball Arena, 45 Cherry Valley Road in West Hempstead, NY. In its second season in the ABA the Sound are ready to bring the Championship home to Long Island and are looking for talented players for the 06-07 season.
