Raptors 905 (10-15), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors defeated the Indiana Mad Ants (15-10) in the first of back-to-back matchups 113-107 Thursday evening. Kobi Simmons led the 905 with a 25-point, 12-assist double-double, a season-high in assists. Jordan Bell secured his own double-double with 12 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and five blocks in the loss.

In their first meeting of the 2023/24 season, the 905 and Mad Ants opened the ball game trading baskets. After 11 lead changes, the 905 took a one-point advantage behind 10 first-quarter points from Simmons. The home team opened the second quarter on a 13-5 run, before the visitors were able to cut the 905 lead to three going into the break.

The Mad Ants came out of the break strong, opening the second half on a 9-2 run. The Mad Ants continued to force stops and get baskets, eventually outscoring the 905 34-23 in the third, entering the final frame up eight. The Raptors 905 regrouped, finding their rhythm early in the fourth as they opened the quarter on an 11-4 run. However, seven straight points from Indiana allowed them to regain their lead. Tied at 107 points apiece, Simmons connected on a three to take the lead with 70 seconds remaining. Free throws from Justise Winslow (20 points, eight rebounds) and a statement dunk from Simmons sealed the victory in Mississauga.

Jahmi'us Ramsey provided complementary scoring in his Raptors 905 debut, putting up 16 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, a steal, and a block. The Mad Ants were paced by 25 points from Quenton Jackson.

The two teams complete their season series tomorrow, tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
